About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety & Environmental Officer to ensure full compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company sustainability goals. The successful candidate will promote a strong safety culture across all mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and audit workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs.
- Conduct safety training, inductions, and emergency response exercises.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards; prepare detailed reports.
- Monitor environmental impacts such as dust, noise, water, and waste management.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure safe work practices at all times.
- Maintain regulatory records and prepare compliance documentation for inspections.
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international mining safety regulations.
- Excellent reporting, communication, and training skills.
- Ability to identify risk and implement prevention measures effectively.
